Literacy & Lifelong Learning Resources Guide
Literacy & Lifelong Learning: The Key To Personal and Family Prosperity
Welcome to the GatewayWorks region's Literacy and Lifelong Learning Resources Guide. Exciting opportunities are opening to all of us who call the Greater Fort Bragg region home. New jobs with higher wages are becoming available in many fields. For those who seek self-assessment of work interests and skills, career exploration, information about community and four-year college courses and programs, or even direct connections to actual job openings, please visit PipelineNC.com.
These jobs require the ability to read English and new skills to compete for those jobs and earn the kind of living we want for our families and ourselves. So we want to encourage more residents – from ages ‘pre-k to gray’ – to go to, stay in and graduate from various education and skills training programs across our 12-county region. In order to help accomplish that goal, we have designed and mounted a social awareness and culture change campaign built around the positive message of getting negativity – or the word “not” – out of people’s lives.
Get 'Not' Out of Your Life Campaign
“Get ‘Not’ Out of Your Life” is the campaign slogan that is turned into many positive and motivating mantras. Instead of hearing or saying that someone cannot do something to better themselves or their families, the upbeat slogan turns that into an inspiring ‘can do’ statement. For instance, if you would like to go back to school, you can – why not? If you would like to earn a Career Readiness Certificate, you can - why not?
Regional Programs and Resources
This website was developed so that every resident can find the literacy, career and technical education programs available in our 12-county region. There are great programs offered by local organizations and our community colleges in every county including Bladen, Chatham, Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson and Scotland counties. Search our online database to find the program that is nearest and right for you. Search by Program Type:
You may also search by organization or by county. The interactive map (below) can also be used to obtain a listing of resources within each county.
